My husband and I have lived here, in the Creuse, for 20 years and are amazed every day at how lucky we are to live in this Department of France.
La Creuse sits in the middle of France with stunning landscapes, historical buildings,incredible folklore,wonderful people and a fantastic way of life.
Boussac, in the North of the Department, is a lovely old market town with all amenities, banks, two supermarkets ,a hardware shop, post office, tabac, several cafes and a wonderful hotel. There is a weekly market with lots of locally sourced products and it is held in the square in front of our Mairie.
From a practical point of view there is an office of the Treasury where you can pay your local taxes and pose any questions you may have.
Boussac also benefits from very good health care provision.
There is a new health centre housing, five GP’s, dentist, Physiotherapists, District nurses, Chiropody and Osteopathy. There are also 2 chemists in the town.
On the outskirts of Boussac there are 3 important and international small factories that provide employment for the town. They are very much a part of the life of Boussac without encroaching on the landscape.
And lastly but not least is our famous Chateau which towers over the town and brings us many tourists in the summer which helps the local economy as well.
